July 2003

Gilroy/Monterey, CA

Our first trip this year had us at the Betabel RV Park..  This is a very nice park for the area.  Just right off highway 101.  Every site is level and cemented.  Full hook ups included cable TV.  The cost with AAA discount was $31 a night.

This was the first trip I got to use my newly purchased tow vehicle.  Its a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L CC with 4.10.  Towed geeeeer-rate!

Rear view of the camp site with hookups on the left.

We took time to go to Bonfante Gardens which is a great amusement park that opened in 2001.  It is geared for the younger kids, but it is very clean and nice to visit.  When we went this time the temperature was 105F YIKES.

I just love this picture.  This is the Apple & Worm ride!

We also ventured down to Monterey, CA.  Mostly to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  It was an easy drive from our campground.  Nice little aquarium.

Nice picture of the bay that day.
