Columbia, CA

This time out we went to the old gold minning town of Columbia, CA.  We stayed at a nice little RV park called Marble Quarry.  It was a nice, friendly park.  Sites were a little small and all gravel.  I remember it was difficult getting around the low tree branches.  There is a nice path to walk from the campground to the town of Columbia which is a CA state park.

In Columbia there was gold panning which was a lot of fun.  There was also a stagecoach ride and an old saloon.

This was also the first time we camped with the trailer after I got it all polished up.

We also took a day trip to see Mercer Caverns in nearby Murphys, CA.  Murphys is a neat little town full of antique shops and eateries.

The Mercer Caverns is quite nice, but it is also a difficult walk.  Mostly damp stairways and it will wear you out fast.  It's worth it though if you have the time.
