Air Conditioner Trouble
Our Airstream had a metal cover over the top of the air conditioner unit. So I had no idea what was under it. I was hoping it would be something salvageable. Unfortunately this is what I found.
This picture shows that junker of an A/C unit removed. It was held on by 4 large bolts from the inside unit and about 100 rivets! Each rivet had to be drilled out and replaced with an Olympic rivet and vulkem.
The new Duo-Therm in place. It took two ladders and my brother to get it up there. This unit is very heavy. Each of us walked up a ladder and set the A/C on the roof. Next we got on the roof careful to only stand on the rivet lines where the beams were and gently set the A/C on the Airstream drain pan over the opening.
Here is a good shot of the drain pan.
Here is the drain pan to drain tube connections. The white elbow goes to the drain tube built into the trailer wall.
